The unique design of the LiteGait offers a safe, secure environment to start walking early in the rehabilitation process. A harness secures patients safely to the body weight support system. The yoke of the LiteGait is a rigid, flexible design that supports patients' body weight directly overhead, but also allows vertical motion to challenge balance and posture. Our LiteGait can be used in conjunction with the GaitKeeper treadmill to improve walking speed and quality. The GaitKeeper treadmill allows patients to start walking as slowly as 0.1 mph and gradually work their way up toward increasing speeds. The repetitive motion of walking on a treadmill enhances neural plasticity to promote faster rehabilitation.
